Cape Verde
Cape Verde is a WNW-facing reef break in Praia da Cruz, Boa Vista Municipality, Cabo Verde. It picks up swell from N to NNE and SW to WNW and WNW to N, and land, islands, reefs or shallow banks block about 45% of the directions it faces. Offshore wind here blows from the ESE: light winds or ESE breezes usually mean the cleanest surf, while WNW onshores chop it up.
Rare slot: a gap beside Santiago lets in swell from 199.8° (SSW) and nothing either side. It only lines up when a storm sits in that exact direction, more than 142 km out. How slot swells work
Rare slot: a gap between Santiago and Fogo lets in swell from 223.8° (SW) and nothing either side. It only lines up when a storm sits in that exact direction, more than 204 km out. How slot swells work
